The Game

The Game of Clubs is an investment game. Players are divided into investment clubs and assigned the task of growing and preserving capital given to them in year 1. Each club will compete with the other to see which club will earn the highest returns on capital invested.
The Game of Clubs parallels real life scenarios for the following asset classes; equity, debt, real estate and alternative investments.

The Clubs

The Game of clubs is played at the Bi-annul 'How to invest' workshop. Attendees at the workshop are assigned into temporary investment clubs where they brainstorm and make investment decisions with the other members of the club. n period.
Each player is provided with a player's guide prior to playing the game. Results are shown real time for the clubs to see the outcome of their investment decisions for each decision

The Champions

At the end of the final decision period, a champion emerges. It is always exhilarating for the members of the winning club to see the results of their investment decisions build over time and eventually emerge as winners of the competition.
This supports my intention to make the game of clubs a hands-on and fun exercise that teaches core investment principles such as understanding the different economic indices you need to consider to make an investment decision
