Making better decisions, even when life seems like a blur

Growing up in Nigeria in the 80's, we had a phrase most children knew so well We screamed this phrase in response to an 'event' When we screamed this phrase, we felt really happy because we knew we had the opportunity to do more. We had the opportunity to do all the things we couldn't do in the state before the event As an adult now, I wonder how I learnt this phrase because my children do not say this phrase anymore even though the event still occurs. Wondering what the phrase was? It was 'Up NEPA!'...Lol We always screamed those words in response to the electricity company's 'generosity' to give our homes electricity As a child, it felt like a state of limbo when there was no electricity. We couldn't move around freely. We had to play safe. Even when we used an alternative source of electricity, it just never felt like the real thing. I remember how it felt once we caught a glimpse of electricity. We were relieved , happy and full of anticipation all at the same time. We felt relief because a burden was lifted. Expressed communal joy because we didn't have to grapple in darkness any longer. We anticipated all the things we could do; watch TV, Iron our rumpled clothes and so much more in peace and quiet. We had electricity. We had light. Light was freedom. It was independence. It was vision. It was sight. It was clarity. and more importantly, we could make better decisions because when you have experienced a state of darkness and blur, clarity takes on a new meaning. What's clarity? Clarity is the state of being clear. When you finally gain a deep understanding of who you are and what you  can do to get out of a rut. In this state, you'll make better decisions, not desperate decisions. When you find yourself experiencing a lot of stress, anxiety, being defensive and emotional, maybe it's time to take a step back and seek clarity. How to find clarity There are 4 ways to find clarity The first way comes with Education. It depends on how far you want to go in your quest to learn. The second way comes with Age. The older you get, the wiser you become, right? Maybe not a given but that's what happens 80-90% of the time. The third way comes with a Sudden State of Revelation. It's like what I described earlier; when you turn on the electricity after a bout of darkness. You just get it. The fourth way is in a Cluster. This supports the fact that clarity comes with engagement and the sum total of a group of people is greater than one individual. Clarity helps you make better decisions In life, the common decisions we find ourselves faced with are; when to take on a new job, when to leave our current place of employment, should I enroll for an MBA program? , Is this right time to start a business? or a side business? When making similar decisions myself, I've learnt that stress and worry come from 'ignorance'. By 'ignorance', I mean when you lack clarity. You'll relieve yourself of the stress and worry when you seek insight. Clarity helps you see clearly what needs to be done, what you are capable of doing, and how it relates to the larger truth of life. and that's how you make better decisions.
